State gives Gorenje incentives to build plant
Under the agreement, Gorenje Tiki is set to receive 310,000 euros, or 2,000 euros per new employee. The agreement also obligates Gorenje Tiki to invest four million euros and create 155 new jobs. The government statement quotes Gorenje Tiki executive director Branko Apat as saying that the production and business facility built on 12,500 square meters will, after it has been completed, house the entire production of boilers and radiators, which will be transferred from Slovenia to Serbia.
Gorenje estimates show that the share of Serbian suppliers will be above 60 percent, whereas nearly 65 percent of production will be exported to the EU, Russia and elsewhere.
SIEPA Director Jasna Matić pointed out that this is Gorenje’s second investment in Serbia, “which shows that this company is satisfied with the business environment in Serbia”.
