Đelić pledges Hague cooperation
Đelić, a former finance minister in the Đinđić government, also said that a government led by him would “do everything to cooperate with the Hague tribunal, in order to fulfill its obligations and conditions toward the international community”.Đelić added his party was open to cooperation with all the other parties that “share its values”, excluding the Serb Radical Party (SRS) and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS).
Janković wary of cabinet talks, Koštunica meets Ecclestone
Future cabinet negotiations could prove to be very difficult and complicated, Vladeta Janković says.The Democratic Party of Serbia vice-president said his party will strive to be constructive and will do all to complete the post-election cabinet negotiations as soon as possible.
Janković has marked the parties the present government has cooperated with so far and in the election campaign as ideal future partners, adding, however, that “serious talk on the makeup of the future government can only happen after the elections”.
Earlier, DSS leader Vojislav Koštunica met with Formula One majority owner Bernie Ecclestone.
Ecclestone said Serbia has made huge economic progress, as well as that he came to Belgrade in order to assess investment opportunities. The government media office in its press release quotes Ecclestone as saying that “Serbia is a good place for investment”.
Ecclestone and his wife Slavica have accepted the invitation to spend the evening with the prime minister, the president and prime minister of the Republic of Srpska, and cabinet ministers in front of the National Assembly building in Belgrade, where the ruling coalition will organize a concert to mark the start of the new year according to the Julian calendar. Among others, Svetlana Ražnatović, widow of Željko Ražnatović-Arkan, is expected to perform.
