After the meeting, Popović denied Pančevo mayor’s claims that no agreement on solving Pančevo’s environmental problems was reached.

“The deal is quite clear. We will reactivate the Coordinating body, made up of local governance representatives, Environment Directorate and companies that produce pollution”, Popović told B92.

The minister also said that tens of millions of euros have so far been invested in an attempt to solve Pančevo’s pollution problem, which stems mostly from the petro-chemical complex located there.
