The National Kitchen in Gornji Milanovac stopped working today because it is out of supplies and money.

Welfare kitchen lacks funds

“Great debts have piled up and we are unable to prepare any food.” Marković said.

Municipal President Dražimir Marušić said that the municipal budget for Gornji Milanovac is full of money.

“There has been a proposal for some time now for a rebalance of the 1,660,000 dinars set aside, but the temporary institutions, which the Serbian Government named, have not made any decisions because of their constant inter-party bickering.” Dražimir Marušić said.

The National Kitchen in Gornji Milanovac has been working for 11 years and has been serving one course meals to in between 120 and 230 people every day. Equipment was received from international humanitarian organizations with the greatest amount of help coming from the Norwegian and German Red Cross.
