Kosovo parliament positions reserved for Serbs

Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu said that ministerial positions within the Government will also be given to minority officials. Sejdiu said that in this way, Priština will be able to regulate guarantees for the minority communities.

“There will be a two-fold majority needed for the adoption of some laws. In this way, minorities will be given the chance to speak, which means that they will have another voice. If, for instance, there is a law regarding religious freedom, if will first have to receive the approval of the parliamentary minority officials and then the entire parliament.” Sejdiu said.

Sejdiu said that one of the guarantees for minorities will be that Serbs will be given a Serbian-language university in Kosovska Mitrovica.
