Every fifth marriage ends in divorce

The main reason many couples give for wanting a divorce is a lack of understanding.

“The biggest reason is that they actually do not have good interpersonal communication or a lack of tolerance.” Judge Marina Klarić Živković said.

Of course, for children it is best to live in happy and harmonious families, but when this is impossible, the parents who are getting divorces must separate their spousal and parental roles, because when these two are mixed, the children suffer most.

“Unfortunately, it often happens that the separation of married couples does not end for the better. Instead, even worst warring continues after the divorce and this is usually done through the children,”  clinical psychologist and family psychotherapist Maja Žegarac said.

Divorces are less common in low-income families and in crisis situations. Accordingly, divorces among wealthy people, businesspeople and couples who married at a very young age are most common.
