Four dead in factory explosion
According to unofficial information reported by Beta, the explosion occurred in the section of the plant which produces explosive materials, not in the chemical sector. Barić citizens said that the local school has been closed, as have nearby stores. They said that a very loud explosion was heard which “shook everything.”The Internal Affairs Ministry told Beta that there are no dangers of chemicals or any other hazardous materials leaking from the factory.
The section of the Obrenovačka Highway leading to Barić has been closed.
The entire team of surgeons at the Emergency Centre is on call and they expect the injured to be transported to the centre shortly.
Two injured individuals are already receiving treatment, though both were located fairly far from the factory, a fact which in itself is a testament to the strength of the blast.
The factory deals with the production of explosives such as TNT and DNT and the production of crude pharmaceuticals and household chemical products.
