Russians offer guarantees for Mladic's release
The newspaper said that the defense filed a motion on Monday to allow the former military leader of Serbs in Bosnia - who is on trial on charges of war crimes and genocide - to be transferred to Russia for the necessary medical treatment in a clinical setting.According to unofficial information, Russia committed itself to guarantee that Mladic will not "disappear or flee" and would return when the Hague Tribunal demands this - and accept all the conditions that are usually required in such situations.
The defense has submitted this request as urgent, and hopes that the tribunal will decide as soon as possible, the newspaper is reporting, and adding that "General Mladic had a serious health crisis in early March."
