Russia's Night Wolves to visit Serbia while on "Slavic Tour"

Spokesman for the group Yevgeny Strogov explained that the tour is planned to take place over the next six months, with the aim to strengthen cooperation between Russia and other Slavic countries.

"We want to connect Orthodox countries of the Slavic world. In the Balkans we have Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and I think there we will feel at home there," Strogov told the Bulgarian National Radio, according to the report.

The Night Wolves, led by Alexander “the Surgeon” Zaldostanov, date back to the early 198s groups of motorcycle and rock music enthusiasts, and took its current shape in 1989. The club currently has around 5,000 members.

The bikers have provoked a storm in Europe in May when they drove to Berlin to mark the 71st anniversary of the defeat of the Nazis in the Second World War.

Their 6,000-kilometer trip, dubbed "The Road of Victory," started in April in Moscow and continued across several Central European countries, including Belarus, Poland and the Czech Republic.

Poland, however, refused to allow them passage through its territory, after the group was banned last year due to strained relations between Moscow and Warsaw.
