Turkish PM: We had right to shoot down Russian plane

He said that Turkey "has an obligation to take measures against anyone endangering its borders" and that this was "its international right and national duty."

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the plane was shot down while inside Syrian airspace, and that the incident will have grave consequences for Russia’s relations with Turkey.
