Ex-official says U.S. actions were illegal - "but right"
Actions of the U.S. in Kosovo, including the bombing campaign against Serbia launched without a UN approval, "were not legal, but were still right."Source: Tanjug
This was heard from former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who spoke for the NPR radio station.
She mentioned Kosovo as she was drawing parallels between that crises, and the one unfolding in Syria, and discussing the possibility of her country attacking Syria even without a mandate of the UN.
"Well, I think that there are any number of different ways. Frankly, again, to go back to Kosovo, kind of the system said that what we did there was not legal, but it was right," Albrights was quoted as saying, and adding:
"I have always believed that we're better off doing something multilaterally than unilaterally. But there are other ways to kind of figure this out and get it out of the cul-de-sac of the Security Council."
