7.8 magnitude earthquake strikes Pakistan

An earthquake measuring 7.8 degrees has hit a mountain region of Pakistan on Tuesday; reports about any damage or casualties are yet to arrive.

But Russia Today is reporting on its website that a “RED” alert has been issued by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The news outlet said that this means "estimated fatalities of over 1,000 and damages costing over a billion dollars."

According to early reports, tremors from the earthquake whose epicenter was in Balochistan, 69 kilometers from the nearest city of Arawan, were felt across the region and as far as New Delhi.


New Korean war "now real possibility"

The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), a British think tank, has warned the government in London that "a new Korean war is now a real possibility."
