At least 26 people were killed and 63 injured when a bomb went off in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Friday, Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar says. The blast apparently targeting police occurred at a busy crossroads in the Midan district in central Damascus shortly before the noon prayer, the Sana news agency has reported.
