The WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, has arrived at London’s Woolwich Court for the second day of his extradition hearing, euronews reports. He argues he will not get a fair trial if sent to Sweden on sex crimes allegations because he claims the process is politically motivated, and that he could end up facing execution in the United States. Assange back in London court Assange’s lawyer Geoffrey Robertson told the court earlier that there was a “real risk of flagrant violation of his rights” if he were sent to Sweden because most rape trials there are held behind closed doors. The 39-year-old Australian computer expert, who has infuriated the U.S. government by releasing thousands of secret U.S. diplomatic cables on his website, is wanted in Sweden where two WikiLeaks volunteers allege sexual misconduct last August. Prosecution lawyer Clare Montgomery said there was no proof that Assange ran the risk of being extradited to the United States and, if it did happen, Britain would have to give its consent first.
