Poll: Should there be a regional football league?

The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) hosted representatives of football associations of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia, for a discussion aimed at launching a joint league with the goal of "influencing the development and providing international experience" to young footballers.

An agreement in principle has been reached, while the reaction of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has been positive. A new meeting, where discussions will continue, should be held early next year.

It remains unknown at this time when the new regional youth league might be launched - but the next logical step would be to set up a similar competition format for the main category of players.

This topic has been raised in the media on several occasions, receiving more negative than positive reactions - the former mostly concerning a lack of funding, poor infrastructure, and bad relations among fans.

For years, there has been a regional basketball competition - the ABA League. On the other hand, domestic leagues have suffered financially, with a number of clubs shutting down in recent years.

What do you think - should regional countries form a regional football league?
