4 more victories in "Battle for Maternity Wards" campaign

Thanks to this donation the need for medical equipment necessary for the care of babies and mothers in Zrenjanin, Senta, Kikinda and Sombor has been fully satisfied.

Representatives of Nordeus and Fund B92 visited the maternity hospital in Zrenjanin, and on this occasion officially handed over the equipment worth about 43,000 euros - one incubator, a reanimation table, an ultrasound device, and a gas analyzer.

Nordeus company employees, accompanied by the new leadership of the Zrenjanin hospital, toured the department of gynecology and obstetrics where the equipment has been installed. Nordeus has so far donated over 655,000 euros to health institutions in Serbia, and today announced a new donation in order to equip seven more maternity hospitals. "As in any battle, it is important to persevere. Therefore, we have been the partners of Fund B92 for several years in this endeavor. We find it hard to express how much we are proud that this year we will jointly declare victory in a total of 11 maternity wards across Serbia. The equipment in some of them was several decades old and we can imagine what a difference it will make to everyone, babies, mothers and staff that helps them to have a better and safer start. Among the Nordeus employees there are many young parents and some of them are from the cities where we equip the maternity wards. I believe that, especially for them, there is no better way to give back to the city from which they came," said the company's manager for communications and corporate responsibility, Marija Beslac.

On behalf of Fund B92, which has been conducting the campaing successfully for more than five years, Chairman of the Board of Directors Veran Matic said that Nordeus is an example of a socially responsible company that regularly cares about the community and truly supports the the struggle for a better society. "We are happy and we are immensely grateful for their years-long successful cooperation and look forward to new victories," he added. Zrenjanin's maternity ward, previously received, within the Fund's campaign "Battle for Babies" and then "Battle for Maternity Wards", two incubators, pulse oximeters, a neonatal aspirator, a CTG machine, a phototherapy lamp, and an infusion pump.

The hospital's director Dr. Jovan Sekulic said on this occasion: "I want to welcome this action and to thank Fund B92 and the company Nordeus for this big and important donation. This is not the first, and hopefully not the last time that the need for continuous improvement of the work processes has been recognized, as well as the fact that patients deserve better service and more comfort. This donation is an indication that health facilities in the country are not alone and that they can count on the assistance in procuring the equipment, all in favor of improving conditions for the coming to the world of youngest and best loved ones. With your activity you helped us modernize and equip our gynecology and obstetrics service. All that remains is to wish to have as many babies." As part of the campaign, Fund B92 has to date collected donations in the amount of three million euros, thanks to which it fully equipped 30 maternity hospitals in the country. Based on the announced donations, eight more maternity wards will be equipped by the end of the year, after which 14 more such institutions remain until a successful completion of the entire mission.
