The ceremony commemorated the victims of a NATO air attack that took place 17 years ago today.

NATO planes fired missiles at the hospital at 08:00 CET, May 20, 1999, killing three patients and seven Yugoslav Army guardsmen.

"Today we remember the soldiers and the patients killed by the NATO aggressor," Jankovic said.

"Today we want to remind future generations of the aggression we experienced in 1999 so that we may never forget," the official said, according to the city administration's website, beograd.rs, quoted by Tanjug.
