Bus burns down after one of its tires explodes

A bus owned by the Nis Ekspres company burned down completely after midday on Tuesday on a highway near Leskovac, in southern Serbia.

Bus burns down after one of its tires explodes

The two drivers and the passengers even managed to salvage the luggage.

Driver Dejan Mitic explained that the bus caught on fire while parked in the emergency lane for an unrelated problem, and while none of the 26 passengers was inside.

Mitic said that when they failed to put out the blaze with fire extinguishers, the accident was reported to firefighters in Leskovac, who intervened quickly.

The police were also at the scene. The wreckage is expected to be towed away during the day, while traffic on the highway has not been disrupted.
