The value of the donation amounts to over EUR 35.000 and it includes a reanimation table, a fixed incubator, a patient monitor for ECG, a digital scale, a neonatal aspirator, as well as two syringe pumps, along with two delivery tables.

Ivica Smolic, President of the Executive Board of Komercijalna Banka, PhD Slobodanka Jotic, General Manager of the General Hospital in Krusevac, and Veran Matic, President of B92 Fund’s Board of Directors were present on the occasion of handing over the equipment.

"It is really delightful to feel the energy of the victory and to keep with its pace. Our today’s presence in the maternity ward in Krusevac undoubtedly has both characteristics. Krusevac is the fifth city in Serbia to which we paid a visit, after our decision starting with June 1, 2014, for the bank to donate funds from its resources for the equipment of maternity wards in accordance with the number of transactions realized through our cards. Up till now, we had donated RSD 20.3 million. After Sabac, Knjazevac, Pozarevac and now Krusevac, we are looking ahead of us and we already collect funds for the maternity ward in Gracanica, where we schedule visit for May“, Ivica Smolic, President of the Executive Board of Komercijalna banka stated on this occasion.

"First of all, I want to thank you most sincerely, on behalf of all the residents of the Rasina District, and all the employees of the General hospital in Krusevac and in my name, for such a valuable donation aimed at helping primarily newborns and the youngest population. I hope that this equipment acquisition will largely facilitate giving birth to babies, thus contributing to birth rate increase to more than 1,700 babies. Once again, I want to extend my thanks to Mr. Veran Matic as the representative of the B92 Fund and to Mr. Ivica Smolic, as representative of Komercijalna banka on this important and significant donation“, PhD Slobodanka Jotic, general manager of the General Hospital in Krusevac stated.

Veran Matic, President of the Board of Directors of the B92 Fund had stated during the visit to the Krusevac hospital the following: "The citizens of Serbia and Komercijalna banka managed to collect enough funds to provide purchase of the necessary equipment for yet another maternity ward, the one situated in Krusevac. I would like to take this opportunity to invite all local self governments where the maternity wards hadn’t been reconstructed yet to jointly with local companies and donors collect necessary funds in the forthcoming period for assisting all maternity wards in Serbia to get all necessary equipment for the best possible healthcare for mothers and babies“.

In the course of 2013 and 2014, the Maternity Ward in Krusevac was already provided with 2 CTG devices within campaign "Battle for Maternity Wards“ as a donation of the IT industry affiliated with company Microsoft, as well as one pulse oximeter donated by the company Djak Sport and the association of school teachers from Trstenik. Overall value of the equipment amounts to around EUR 5.000, while with today’s donation of Komercijalna banka, Krusevac maternity ward now disposes of all necessary equipment.

When it comes to the overall results of the campaign Together for the Babies, realized in partnership of Komercijalna Banka and B92 Fund, after the maternity wards in Sabac, Knjazevac and Pozarevac, the one in Krusevac is the fourth that Komercijalna banka had fully furnished, and along with the maternity ward of the Clinical Center of Serbia, the fifth one to which Komercijalna banka contributed with the provision of necessary medical equipment.

Up till now, within Battle for Maternity Wards maternity wards in Clinical Health Centers Zvezdara and Zemun in Belgrade were fully equipped, along with the maternity wards located in Vrsac, Sabac, Sremska Mitrovica, Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Pancevo, Leskovac, Knjazevac, Uzice, Pozarevac, Vrbas, Bor, Majdanpek, as well as two clinics in Novi Sad – Betanija and Institute for the children and youth health care of Vojvodina, while with today’s donation and with furnishing the maternity ward in Krusevac, the number of equipped institutions had grown to 18.

We need additional EUR 2.4 million for the aim of fully furnishing the rest of maternity wards in Serbia.

The battle continues!
