Previously, those citizens who returned to their town complained that they had to wait in queues for hours in order to receive food supplies, which, according to reports, consist of two items of canned food, a loaf of bread, "and a bit more - but certainly not enough for normal life."

Gašić also noted that more than 220 trucks are currently working in Obrenovac and that over 1,000 tons of various debris and garbage that locals carried out of their homes have been removed.

2,500 Obrenovac residents are still evacuees in Belgrade, and the minister noted that 600 of those will find new temporary accommodation in army barracks in Obrenovac, and in the facilities owned by the Gerontological Center and the Nikola Tesla Power Plant.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Defense announced that a field hospital, part of the Military Medical Academy (VMA), started working in a schoolyard in Obrenovac.

This temporary healthcare facility will provide treatments for the citizens living in the flood-affected areas and members of the Serbian Armed Forces and Interior Ministry repairing the damage.

Lieutenant Colonel Doctor Miroslav Broćić, commander at the field hospital, said that the hospital has around 30 doctors and medical staff.

According to Broćić, the hospital is equipped for simple surgeries, lab analyses, general, orthopedic, X-ray and other examinations.

More complex medical cases will be sent to proper hospitals.

Authorities are considering the possibility of putting up another field hospital of the same kind at some other location in Obrenovac.
