The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) will open its door on Saturday, April 5, to all visitors who want to tour the building - a cultural monument.

Central bank opens doors to visitors

During the “Open Door Day” event, organized by NBS for the third time, the visitors will be welcome to tour the building between 10:00 and 18:00 CET and tour the exhibition space, showcasing items on permanent display in the exhibition “Money in the Territory of Serbia” as well as special exhibitions “Dinar - our money” and “Coins of Serbia”.

NBS experts will present to visitors the importance and functions of theh bank's information system, the functions and tasks of our central bank, formation of the exchange rate of the dinar, security features of dinar circulating banknotes, and the protection of financial service consumers, said a statement.

The NBS building, constructed in 1890 in the neo-Renaissance style, was designed by renowned architect Konstantin Jovanović. Due to its distinctive style, the edifice was named a monument of culture under state protection.

Each visitor will also receive a small souvenir - "a novelty banknote featuring their own portrait," NBS said in the statement.

Admission is free of charge.
