The Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals explained that DST begins in Serbia during the last week of March and ends in the last week of October.

This type of timekeeping, mostly meant to save electricity, was introduced in 1983 and harmonized with the EU in 2006.

The EU, and countries elsewhere in Europe, decided in 2002 that summer time would begin in the last week of March and end in the final week of October.
