BELGRADE - Director of Koridori Srbije Dmitar Djurovic said that Serbia had suffered losses as a result of terminating its contract with Alpina. Djurovic said that Koridori will file a claim for all the work the recently-bankrupt Alpine Bau Gmbh failed to complete and that "Serbia has definitely suffered losses. Koridori Srbije to claim debt from Alpine Our biggest loss is the uncompleted highway," Djurovic told Radio Television of Serbia, adding that the biggest problem is that many companies and trucks avoid Serbia. Asked how Serbian companies can collect the money Alpine owes them, Djurovic said the companies must file all claims with the bankruptcy administrator in Vienna by August 16. With the termination of the contract i.e. the start of the procedure for collecting bank guarantees after the contract was terminated Wednesday, the company Koridori Srbije and the Serbian government have until August 16 to file their claims, he said. On Wednesday public company Koridori Srbije informed Alpine Bau Gmbh about the termination of all four contracts for the construction of Corridor 10 sections from Pirot Istok to Dimitrovgrad and the Dimitrovgrad bypass in southern Serbia. We were informed on June 21 that Alpine had gone bankrupt and since then our lawyers have been working to fully honor the termination procedure, he said. Djurovic said Alpine's bankruptcy administrator Stephan Riel sent a document stating that Alpine cannot complete its works in Serbia. Koridori Srbije has started the procedure of collecting payment of performance bank guarantees worth EUR 5.14 million and advance bank guarantees in the amount of EUR 2.73 million. Alpine's debt to Serbian companies totals RSD 420 million. Alpine was also building a bridge on the Velika Morava river, which is part of railway corridor 10. /Tanjug, file/ Tanjug
