Belgrade – The Director of the Fund, Momcilo Babic, says that the story of the electronic health card is forced by the public "media centers of power." Babic states that the Republic Fund for Health Insurance is only enforcing the law by introducing electronic health cards. The Republic Fund for Health Insurance only enforcing law "That's not even the most important task; the assumption was created by those who want to destabilize the country, society and the Fund," said Babic on the RTS Morning News. The Director of the Republic Fund for Health Insurance added that the law was proposed by the previous government, and it was adopted by the Serbian Parliament at a time when it was led by a current Health Minister Slavica Djukic Dejanovic. "I will definitely replace my health card for the electronic one because it provides a lot of benefits. Every citizen replaces his/her card in accordance with the law and the European standards," he said. Babic said that the Parliament is in charge of changing the law and that the Republic Fund for Health Insurance "in general does not participate in any decision-making process" about it. He says that the introduction of electronic cards is "hard work and represents huge responsibility" for the Fund, but the priority within the health system are changes in the legislation. "The Ministry of Health should propose amendments to the Law on Health Care, Health Insurance, Drugs, Health Employees, as there is plenty of room to regulate the health care system," said Babic. He said that due to the lack of effective control systems within the health system one third of stents has not been invoiced to the Fund, and that transition to IT, electronic supplies inventory control system in hospitals represents a solution to this problem. Babic added that next week The Call for Proposals would be issued for the involvement of private health clinics providing in vitro fertilization. Photo: Republic Fund for Health Insurance Reuters
