International student festival of folklore opens

NIŠ -- The 6th International Student Festival of Folklore, which brings together around 400 folklore dancers from Serbia and abroad, opened in Niš on Tuesday.

"We have students from Indonesia, Mexico, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia who will show how folk tradition is nurtured in their countries," Miša Jović, director of the Niš Student Cultural Center which organizes the event, told Tanjug.

"Over the coming days, the audience will enjoy a rich and diverse program showcasing various cultures. It will be performed by close to 250 participants from abroad and 150 from Serbia," said Jovic.

The festival will run for six days and the closing ceremony will be held on the Niš Fortress summer stage.
