Young Serbian mathematicians win six medals

Serbian mathematicians won one gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad held in Agros, Cyprus.

This was announced by the Belgrade Mathematical Grammar School on Tuesday.

The gold medal went to Maksim Stokić, while the silver medals were awarded to Simon Stojković, both students of the school. Another silver went to Žarko Ranđelović of the Niš Bora Stanković Grammar School.

The bronze medals were collected by Ivan Damjanović of the Niš Bora Stankovic Grammar School and Lazar Radićević and Bogdana Jelić of the Belgrade Mathematical Grammar School.

The competition comprised representatives of 16 countries including Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece and guest countries Britain, Italy, and others.

The 30th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad started on June 28 and it will last through July 10.
