BELGRADE The Serbian police (MUP) Counter-Terrorist Unit (PTJ) on Thursday marked ten years since it was established. Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic attended the celebrations and wished the unit "as little work as possible in the future, because this would mean that the Serbian state policy of not making enemies is working." "Today Serbia has several units whose members pledge to give their lives for the safety of Serbian citizens and other people's children," Nikolic recalled, adding it is the job of the state to make sure these special units have the best equipment. "I wish you many anniversaries, exercises and practices, and little work, because this would mean that the Serbian government's policy - which is also my own - is working," said Nikolic. He said that his trust in the PTJ can be seen in the fact he has chosen to be protected by its members when he visits his father's hometown on the weekends. The president said he has encountered PTJ members in different situations in the past, but never in dishonorable positions they could be ashamed of.
