Heavy hailstorm hits northern Serbia

A heavy hailstorm hit Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina on Saturday night, causing great damage to crops.

Anti-hail missiles were fired in the entire Bačka district but they were ineffective in some areas.

Fields are completely flooded in Bačka Palanka area. The damage will be assessed in the next several days.

Strong wind pulled out trees and broke branches in the village of Kulpin and several other towns. Hailstones were the size of a pigeon egg.
