BELGRADE President Tomislav Nikolic has wished a happy Easter to Patriarch Irinej, priests and all citizens celebrating the holiday according to the Julian calendar. He noted that Kosovo should not be forgotten on Easter. President Nikolic in Easter message “Easter is the greatest Christian holiday, the holiday which instills hope into us that good prevails over evil, justice over injustice, light over darkness. The suffering of our Savior Jesus Christ and his victory over death offers a possibility for survival to the entire mankind,” the message reads. “On this very day, we should remember all those we love and pray for all those who do not love us. In our prayers, we should not forget the sick and the frail, workers without job and farmers without hope, the families that welcome the holiday in poverty. In our prayers, we should not forget the underprivileged and displaced, our youth scattered across the globe; we should not forget anyone to whom Serbia is a home, wherever they are,” Nikolic said. “We should not forget Serbia's Kosovo and Metohija, for which we pray and fight each day, as no Serb will ever have the right to give up on Kosovo,” the Serbian president underscored. “May God give us strength to resist challenges that our society, state and every person are facing,” Nikolic concluded. Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter on Sunday, May 5. Tomislav Nikolic (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
