BELGRADE Emir Kusturica, who resigned as director of the Mokra Gora Nature Park, will hire an independent auditor to determine if budget funds were misspent. Before he officially steps down, the internationally renowned film director will hire an independent auditor and an authorized construction expert who will determine the situation in the institution. Kusturica to hire independent auditor Kusturica said in a written statement to media that the independent experts’ report would at the same time be his report on the work of the nature park that he would, together with his resignation letter, submit to the nature park’s assembly and the Serbian government. He stressed that he would request from the independent experts to determine how much money the government had invested in the Mokra Gora Nature Park, what had been built and how much everything was worth. “In other words, I insist that everything is precisely calculated before the takeover of the director’s duties so everything would be clear between the future director and me,” the director pointed out. A complaint against Kusturica does not prove that he is guilty of misspending the funds, experts told Tanjug on Saturday.
