PANCEVO B92 Fund representatives and donor Milan Popovic have visited General Hospital in Pancevo and donated new equipment. The hospital’s maternity ward has been completely renovated thanks to B92’s campaign Battle for Maternity Wards. New equipment donated to Pancevo hospital The B92 Fund representatives and Popovic on Thursday handed over the equipment that was necessary for the normal functioning of pediatric and gynecology wards. Pancevo General Hospital Director Dr Milan Milic, Gynecology and Obstetrics Ward Chief Dr Vladimir Vajs and Pediatric Ward Chief Dr Radmila Ljubinkovic Postic thanked the B92 Fund representatives and Popovic on the donation. Several months ago, equipment was donated to the hospital thanks to Popovic’s donation who provided funds for the purchase of four stethoscopes, two neonatal resuscitation kits, a neonatal respirator, a vital functions monitor, a hearing screening machine, four CTG machines, a baby changing table, two delivery tables, a baby bottle sterilizer, three infusion pumps and five baby weighing scales. Two pulse oximeters, a stationary and a transport incubator, a neonatal resuscitation kit, two neonatal respirators, a transcutaneous bilirubinometer, a bottle sterilizer, three infusion pumps and 20 baby beds were also purchased for the Pediatric Ward. B92 Fund Board of Directors President Veran Matic said on Thursday that the biggest value of Popovic’s donation, aside from the expensive equipment, was that his individual actions inspired many others to join the campaign. “Some of them were even inspired by this to make a donation for the first time,” he stressed. “Spreading goodness and philanthropy, especially in the times of crisis in countries in transition, has an immense value. I hope that many other individuals and companies will join us in the continuation of the Battle for Maternity Wards campaign,” Matic noted. Popovic is the biggest donor of the Battle for Babies and Battle for Maternity Wards campaigns. He has donated around EUR 600,000 for the purchase of the necessary equipment in the last 12 months. His donations secured 23 incubators for hospitals in Serbia and two in the Republic of Srpska, a complete renovation of a maternity ward in Vrsac, complete equipment for the Pancevo maternity ward, two babytherm machines for the Institute for Mother and Child in Belgrade, a surgical microscope for the Institute for Neurosurgery and a sterilizer for Belgrade’s Emergency Center.
