BELGRADE Presevo will, after 15 years, have a maternity ward again. The B92 Fund is involved in the procurement of equipment for this ward. The adaptation of the local health center, where the ward is located, has been completed, and by the middle of next year it will be opened. Ragmi Mustafa, mayor of Presevo, says that even in this region the birth rate had decreased, but it is expected that the situation will be improved when the maternity unit begins to operate. The building has an area of ​​800 square meters, two delivery rooms, and five rooms for patients. Construction works so far cost RSD 50 million, and an equal amount will be provided for future works, according to the president of the Coordinating Body for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Zoran Stankovic. Between 400 and 500 babies are born each year in Presevo.
