BELGRADE A Serbian military airplane on Wednesday morning crashed into a residential area of Nova Pazova, northwest of Belgrade, it has been confirmed. There have been no reports of causalities among the residents, but one of the pilots perished in the accident. According to Nova Pazova Municipal President Djordje Radinovic, the plane crashed into the yard of a private house, while the pilot who lost his life is to credit for the fact there were no causalities on the ground: "The aircraft went down between two structures. One pilot ejected, while the other made an effort until the last moment (before ejecting) not to hit a house in this residential area. Once the plane stopped there was no explosion either." The pilot - identified as Major Goran Savic - was found close to his plane and was in a very serious condition when medical teams reached him. The doctors of the Military clinic VMA were fighting to save his life, but news came shortly after midday that he had succumbed to his injuries. Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday ordered an urgent investigation into the accident, and cut short his visit to Cyprus, it was announced.
