15 hurt as bus turns over in eastern Serbia

15 passengers were injured late on Monday when their bus turned over on a local road near Petrovac na Mlavi, in eastern Serbia.

There were five children among those hurt, while two persons are now being treated in Belgrade and are said to be in a stable but serious condition.

The bus, owned by the Banbus company from Obrenovac, was speeding when the accident occurred, according to unofficial information.

The driver attempted avoiding crashing into another bus when he lost control of the vehicle, according to this.

Local residents and taxi drivers joined medical crews last night in evacuating the injured. The police are investigating the accident.

The bus had 76 passengers on board, members of a church choir and worshipers from Belgrade, headed for a monastery near Petrovac na Mlavi.
