Fans of advertising in Serbia had a chance to watch several hours-worth of the year's best advertisements at Belgrade's Sava Center venue over the weekend. Athletes took home the bulk of awards handed by the 12th Night of the Adeaters - among them world number one tennis player, Serbia's Novak Djokovic, whose stellar career moments in 2011 were seen during live coverage of tournaments on B92 TV. "Night of Adeaters" awards B92 campaign Djokovic was declared 2011's Mega Brand, to the delight of the Sava Center audience, which was addressed by Novak's mother. "Thank you all, Novak regrets not being able to be here, but a new season is starting - thank you all for supporting him," said Dijana Djokovic. The Adeaters' main award went to the Serbian State Lottery for their "A Date with Luck" campaign. B92 Fund's effort to raise money and buy more than a hundred new baby incubators for hospitals across country did not go unnoticed. "The Battle for the Babies", developed by Saatchi & Saatchi, was recognized as best in the non-profit category. The advertising agency's Luka Loncar thanked those gathered for the event, and promised that "the battle would continue next year as well". The Grand Slam award went to marketing expert Ivan Stankovic, while the Best Brand awards went to both men's and women's national volleyball teams, which both ended the year as European champions in their respective categories. Future scientists were not neglected during the Night of the Adeaters. The Strawberry Energy team were the recipients of the Knowledge Comes First award. The group of Belgrade students designed a mobile solar-powered cell phone charger. But the Sava Center audience - apparently eager to watch ads instead of listening to speeches - did not extend a warm welcome to Minister for Youth and Sport Snezana Markovic-Samardzic, whose address was met with boos.
