“Pride Parade route same as last year”

Route of the second Pride Parade, which will be held on October 2 in Belgrade, will be the same as last year, the organizers have announced. B92 has learned that the parade participants will leave from Manjez Park in downtown Belgrade, just like last year. “Pride Parade route same as last year” The organizers said Monday that the participants would leave from Manjez Park and then take Nemanjina Street, Kneza Milosa Street and Masarikova Street. The participants will gather between 10 and 11:00 CET and all entrances to the park would be closed due to security reasons after that. International institutions’ representatives will hold speeches at 11:00. According to the organizers, MEP Jelko Kacin, OSCE and European Commission representatives are expected to come. After the walk, the Pride Parade participants will return to Manjez Park. Representatives of several political parties and Human and Minority Rights Ministry are also expected to attend the gathering. Pride Parade organizer Goran Miletic stressed that the organizers had received verbal support from institutions and politicians and that they had never asked them to call the parade off. Miletic pointed out that the state was this year readier to have the Pride Parade, adding that participants’ safety would be better than last year.
