Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej today described a NATO-organized military conference which is being held in Belgrade as unacceptable. Speaking in the town of Kursumlija, central Serbia, Irinej said the wounds that NATO inflicted on the Serb people have not healed yet. "To accept something that was until yesterday a bitter enemy, who left us with deep wounds on our people, our economy - if that can be cured and healed, then that is good, but I do not know whether that cure is filthy for our wounds," the patriarch was quoted as saying. The military conference that is taking place in Belgrade on Tuesday and Wednesday is organized by NATO and gathers participants from 60 of its member and partner countries.
