A B92 Fund humanitarian convoy has brought food which has been collected so far to soup kitchens in Gracanica and other Serb enclaves in Kosovo. A B92 Fund delegation and the biggest donors to Food for Enclaves campaign have handed over the humanitarian aid to the soup kitchens in Raska-Prizren Eparchy. B92 campaign to help Kosovo enclaves B92 Fund President Veran Matic, Victoria Group representative Natalija Kurjak and other members of the delegation were received by Bishop of Raska-Prizren Eparchy Teodosije and his associates who work in the soup kitchens. Soup kitchens in the Serb enclaves have been in a critical situation for months now and they are on the verge of being closed. They are not a part of the system of the state of Serbia and are not financed by the Kosovo administration either. The kitchens lack groceries and funds to buy food and keep them running. B92 Fund has therefore launched the campaign which should directly help more than 1,800 people. During the first several weeks, B92 Fund collected 65 tons of flour, 2 tons of pasta, 1,080 liters of cooking oil, a truckload of dairy products, sugar, tomato puree and other necessary foodstuff. The fund also provided new clothes and toys for children in the Serb enclaves. The most significant donors are Victoria Group, Concern Farmakom MB – Sabac Dairy, MK Group, Mitsides Point, Polimark, Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, MV Sistem and Neimar V. B92 Fund, which provided more than 2mn tons of food to soup kitchens in Serbia through its campaign Food for Everyone, has also provided funds that will cover the employers’ salaries, fuel needed to transport the food, electricity and heating bills and inventory for the soup kitchens in the Serb enclaves in Kosovo. The donation is worth RSD 3mn and will allow the soup kitchens to work normally in the next three months. “Our goal is to collect food from the donors that will meet the needs of the soup kitchens in the Kosovo Pomoravlje region in the next six months so humanitarian organizations and system institutions would organize themselves in order to provide regular supply of groceries to the kitchens so the poorest people would have elementary living conditions,” Matic stressed. B92 Fund has called on other donors to join the campaign in the Serb enclaves in Kosovo by donating necessary foodstuff and money. The second convoy, that will bring new truckload of groceries to the struggling enclaves, is being prepared. For all additional information call B92 Fund at +381-64-815-12-42.
