Gay rights NGO: Democrats back parade
The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) has announced that the ruling Democrats (DS) support the holding of the Pride Parade in Belgrade.

The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) has announced that the ruling Democrats (DS) support the holding of the Pride Parade in Belgrade. They see it as one way to improve the position of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-gender (LGBT) population in the country, said this NGO. Gay rights NGO: Democrats back parade The GSA announcement also stated that DS representatives have condemned violence and discrimination at a joint meeting and agreed on ways to combat violence and homophobia. Agreement on the necessity of solving all relevant issues important to the LGBT community in Serbia has also been reached, as well as on the idea to create a national strategy for doing so, the statement said. At the meeting with the GSA, DS was represented by party’s Secretary Tamara Tripic and Executive Council President and MP Marko Djurisic. GSA voiced their satisfaction with the meeting, and said they considered it important because they "recognize the party (DS) as the political pillar of changes in Serbia".
