Serb regions in Kosovo are still subject to electricity restrictions, even though they paid off debts amounting to EUR 26 per household. Kosovo Electricity Corporation (KEK) spokesman Viktor Buzolja said that the restrictions were necessary, as high consumption led to frequent breakdowns of the network throughout Kosovo, KiM radio reports. Serb villages still subject to power restrictions The village of Laplje Selo, near Pristina, has been without electricity since last night. Buzolja said that the problem was being fixed. “Teams were out in the field last night and we expect the problem to be repaired any minute,“ said the spokesman. He added that even though all the Serb villages had made their EUR 26 per household payments and signed contracts, each neighborhood fell into one of three categories subject to restrictions.

The village of Laplje Selo, near Priština, has been without electricity since last night. Bužolja said that the problem was being fixed.

“Teams were out in the field last night and we expect the problem to be repaired any minute,“ said the spokesman.

He added that even though all the Serb villages had made their EUR 26 per household payments and signed contracts, each neighborhood fell into one of three categories subject to restrictions.
