Several NGOs have sent an invitation to the Serbian parliament to declare July 11 a day of commemoration of genocide in Srebrenica. Human rights NGOs have invited the parliament to support the European Parliament resolution under which July 11 should be declared day of commemoration of genocide in Srebrenica. NGOs want Srebrenica commemorated They also called for the need to "observe and recognize the victims of the worst crime among crimes, and pave the way for the building of common memory, which will include all victims of war crimes committed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia", a statement said on Saturday. The NGOs recalled that "Serbian authorities and public had the obligation to take responsibility for crimes committed in the past and thus show their determination to build a democratic state on the basis of the rule of law and human rights observation".
