The public prosecutor in Velika Plana has yet to receive an answer to his request to speak to Dragan Jocic. The prosecution wants to question the former interior minister over the traffic accident he was involved in at the beginning of the year. Prosecution waiting for Jocic statement Municipal Public Prosecutor Vesna Ivanovic told the Beta news agency that after reading the analysis given to them by the Belgrade Traffic Faculty on September 5, the prosecution had asked the police to set up a meeting with Jocic in order to “supplement the findings of the Traffic Faculty” regarding the accident in which the former minister was seriously injured. Ivanovic added that there had been no meeting with Jocic to discuss the circumstances surrounding the January 25 accident, which occurred on the highway near Velika Plana. She said that no answer from the Interior Ministry had been forthcoming. The Prosecution wants Jocic to give a statement about the circumstances surrounding the crash, since there had thus far been no discussion whatsoever regarding the matter with the former minister. According to initial statements, the car in which he was driving hit a dog on the Belgrade-Nis highway, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The driver, Mirko Damjanovic, was also injured in the accident.
