Serbian swimmer Milorad Cavic has qualified to the Olympic 100-meter butterfly semifinals in style. He swam to win in his heat and set a new Olympic record of 50.76 seconds. Serbian swimmer breaks Olympic record Cavic left behind Michael Phelps of the United States, who has already won five gold medals in the Beijing Olympics. The Serbia swimmer told reporters after the race that he felt ready to do even better. "I used to think I could swim under 51 seconds, and I did it. It felt great. I made many mistakes and I know I'll do better in the final," he said. Čavić left behind Michael Phelps of the United States, who has already won five gold medals in the Beijing Olympics.

The Serbia swimmer told reporters after the race that he felt ready to do even better.

"I used to think I could swim under 51 seconds, and I did it. It felt great. I made many mistakes and I know I'll do better in the final," he said.

But Čavić set qualifying for the final as his priority for the next race, and said breaking another record was of secondary importance.
