Situation under control after factory explosion Health Minister Tomislav Milosavljevic said that only two of the injured have minor burns on their arms while the others are being held as a precaution, adding that “absolutely no one’s life is in danger.” Chief of the MUIP Protection and Rescue Sector, Predrag Maric, told B92 that the fire broke out after an explosion in one of the pesticide factory’s storage facilities. The fire was put out by 45 firefighters. “It was a smaller fire which broke out during the technical process and which destroyed the dishes in which the poisonous materials were held,” Maric said. He said that none of the firefighters are seriously injured. “They were taken in because of preventive reasons and for the control of their health, since they were the men who were the first on the scene." "The intervention itself lasted fairly long because of the fact that work with such aggressive materials is only possible in special suits. The situation is under control and there are no threats of further explosions,” Maric said. The explosion occurred last night at the Galenika pesticide factory in the Belgrade municipality of Zemun.
