The political earthquake that Boris Tadic's re-election has caused in Serbia is all over the front pages today. ALO—"Two bank heists in half an hour", is about two bank robberies in Belgrade, that saw the robbers walk away with RSD 1.6mn, or EUR 20,000, in a short space of time. Press: Turmoil in ruling coalition "Celebrations until dawn", another front page story dedicated to President Boris Tadic's victory in the Sunday run-off against Radical Tomislav Nikolic. "Armed to teeth to Palace of Justice", is a disturbing report about citizens who allegedly increasingly carry guns on their persons as they attend court sessions. BLIC—"… While from Kostunica, not even a congratulations", the daily focuses on the fact Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has not yet congratulated Tadic on his election success, unlike much of the country, region and the world. "Partizan enters Euro League second round without money", is about the Belgrade-based basketball club's financial woes. Also on the front page, surely good news for those who believe the thing is still alive: punk veterans the Sex Pistols are confirmed for this year's EXIT festival: "Sex Pistols in EXIT." BORBA—More on Kostunica's possibly costly decision not to support Tadic is explored under, "Principles guard cabinet". "Agreement arrives in Belgrade", says another article, and explains that the text of the EU's surrogate for the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) has been sent to officials in Serbia. "Astra beats Yugo", brings news that Zastava's Yugo has finally slipped from the number one spot on the car sales list in this country. Instead, Serbians have taken to buying new Astra Opels. VECERNJE NOVOSTI—"Brussels offers assistance", is what the daily sees as the gist of the political agreement the EU sent to Belgrade yesterday. "All remain in arrest warrants", is about the numerous legal proceedings against the surviving members of the Milosevic family. GAZETA—"Kostunica to resign?" speculates the daily, on what seems to be a serious turn of tables in the Serbian political game after the Sunday vote. "Legija voted in prison?", another headline wonders, in reference to the presidential ballot, and the convicted killer of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, Milorad Lukovic, a.k.a. Legija, and his civic duties. GLAS JAVNOSTI—The daily has no doubt as to why Tadic won: "LDP, Bosniaks, and Ilic decided". "Pope both for and against 1244", an improbable reading of the position of the leader of the Roman Catholics on the ongoing Kosovo status crisis also features in the front page. "How we missed the chair by millimeters", is an interview with the Radicals' campaign headquarters chief, Dragan Todorovic, where the chair is that of the president of the republic. DANAS—"Djelic: EU membership guaranteed", the liberal daily is upbeat on the front page. "Positions still unchanged", is about Tadic's victory and its influence on the solving of the Kosovo status crisis. Meanwhile, Rasim Ljajic, who backed the president in the campaign, says in an interview: "Tadic cannot make compromises over European path". KURIR—"Greeting card for Tadic: EU sends mission to Kosovo", the tabloid says on the front page. Back to its usual focus of interest, and an article where a former manager to folk diva Svetlana Raznatovic discusses her sexual preferences: "Ceca likes women". POLITIKA—"Secret Slovenian documents", is about alleged papers the Slovenian diplomacy has assembled on the subject of Kosovo. "EU agreement tests government", another headline says. The paper was prone to extensively investigating, and placing prominently on the front page, alleged wrongdoings by Montenegro's likely new PM Milo Djukanovic in the 1990s – little seems to have changed today: "What Milo earned while taking a break from politics". PRESS—While others speculate and calculate on the coalition crisis, the tabloid cuts straight to the chase quoting Velimir Ilic: "Snap elections in May". Details from B92's investigative program Insider are also on the front page, in an article under the headline, "Danko Lazovic admits: I played football with Zemun [Clan] members".
