Nagai reiterated that his country had already provided assistance worth EUR 4mn, emanating from a “revolving fund” set up following an emergency donation of around EUR 23mn after 2000, for the construction of over 200 flats for disabled veterans and the families of dead soldiers in 11 municipalities throughout Serbia. Japanese donations for the population’s basic needs since 1999, including yesterday’s donation, have reached some EUR 5.3mn, while total economic assistance from Japan in the same period amounts to EUR 197mn.
