Today’s editions of the Belgrade dailies look at general economic and social themes. New cases of fraud and corruption have also come to light. Press: Corruption and rise of new Mafia BLIC – The paper investigates: “Who robbed Jugoeksport blind: Verica and Dusko got premises for peanuts" They report that the government has corrected its mistake in “Best students will receive grants”. “Don’t swallow handfuls of pills” warns against excessive use of medication. VECERNJE NOVOSTI - The daily publishes a survey under the headline “Serbia’s average citizen”, and features interviews with Professor Radoslav Bigovic from the Theology Faculty, entitled “History before unification“, and with the actor Svetozar Cvetkovic in “I’m not ladies’ man.” GLAS JAVNOSTI – The daily writes that many Zlatibor residents are sure that Montenegrins are buying land on behalf of Albanians in “Albanians buying up Zlatibor!” There is an interview with former NIS director Dimitrij Vukcevic, who says that “Politicians and directors destroyed NIS.“ KURIR – “Hunting mafia in Serbia“ publishes a series of articles alleging that “hunting octopuses”, whose tentacles reach far into the majority of the country’s hunting organizations, practise, among other things “blackmail, embezzlement, theft, poaching and financial fraud.” “Lorry killers” is about two road accidents that took place near Vrbas. POLITIKA – “Battle of Belgrade” is a title of the edition’s week-long theme focusing on commemorations marking the 63rd anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade. “KFOR tanks enter Jovanovic garden“ concerns the arrest of Nebojsa Jovanovic in the village of Bresje in Kosovo. Hague Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte announces: “Haradinaj is guilty of war crimes.” PRESS – “Tadic’s elections on December 9” features an interview with Serb Radical Party Deputy President Tomislav Nikolic, where he says, among other things, that “the possibility of an election race during the Kosovo status settlement process will harm Serbia’s interests, but won’t help Tadic win the ballot.“
