Final preparations for the opening of the Romanian Cultural Center in Zrenjanin, Vojvodina, are in progress. Dusan Jakovljev, deputy president of Vojvodina’s Executive Council, said Saturday the Center would open its doors and be fully functional by the end of the year. Romanian cultural center to open in Zrenjanin “The idea is to enable the Romanian community in Serbia to familiarize with their mother country’s history and present its elite contemporary cultural achievements," he said at the reception party organized for the visiting delegation from the western Romanian county of Arad. Jakovljevic stressed that the funds for the center were incorporated in this year’s Vojvodina’s budget, adding that the government was also sponsoring the project. He pointed out to the fact that Vojvodina and Caraº-Severin County in Romania had already established close and intensive cooperation, which comes as a good recommendation to foster the same ties with the Arad County in western Romania as well.
