The No. 1-seeded pair, Nenad Zimonjic (Serbia) and Mahesh Bhupathi (India), claimed their first title as a team. At their fourth tournament together, the pair beat Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski, the No. 4 seeds from Poland, in 59 minutes Sunday. Zimonjic wins ATP New Haven doubles "We were playing very solid on our serves today. We didn't give them any chances. They had maybe two or three break points, and we played really well on those points,” Zimonjic said. Speaking of the tournament, the Serb added: “I'm very happy with the way we played and how we went up after the first match. We had to face many different teams this week. A couple of teams were staying back, returning well and playing from the baseline. Two teams were serving and volleying. It was tough to find a rhythm." Zimonjic praised Bhupathi, saying, "Mahesh is one of the greatest doubles players. He has won the US Open twice and I hope that I can win it once." "I hope we can continue with this form and maybe play even better. I think Mahesh had a really good summer by winning Montreal and here."
