Large amounts of dead fish were found floating late Friday in the Toplica River, near Kursumlija in southern Serbia. Officials of the Kursumlija Association of Sport Fishing said they spotted the dead fish floating in the river stretch 200 kilometers away from Kursumlija downstream towards Prokuplje at 10 p.m. Friday and notified the police. Another fish plague in Toplica River Association activist have been keeping watch ever since, awaiting the arrival of a state environment inspector announced for Saturday morning. On July 18, ten tons of dead fish surfaced on the shores of the same river due to a toxic spill that came from a nearby wood-processing plant. The Environmental Inspectorate filed a criminal complaint against Kopaonik wood factory, banning the emission of waste water from its premises.

Association activist have been keeping watch ever since, awaiting the arrival of a state environment inspector announced for Saturday morning.

On July 18, ten tons of dead fish surfaced on the shores of the same river due to a toxic spill that came from a nearby wood-processing plant.

The Environmental Inspectorate filed a criminal complaint against Kopaonik wood factory, banning the emission of waste water from its premises.
